HATE PROPAGANDA IN DETROIT

Dr. Smith is Associate Professor of Government at Wayne University; his co-author a Graduate Resident Scholar, Department of Public Law and Government, Columbia University.

FACED WITH the threat of the liberal candidacy of UAW-CIO's Frankensteen, conservative forces in Detroit resorted to anti-Negro, anti-Semitic, and anti-"Communist" propaganda to elect their candidate, Jeffries, in one of "the most vicious, nasty campaigns" in recent municipal history.
