SOME OPINION RESEARCH PRINCIPLES DEVELOPED THROUGH STUDIES OF SOCIAL MEDICINE
Set up to investigate a wide apparent discrepancy between findings on public attitudes toward social medicine as reported by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC), on the one hand, and the Opinion Research Corporation (ORC), with which the author is project director, on the other, the studies reported below developed several significant principles of opinion research relating to the framing of questions involving means and ends, the personalized wording of questions, etc.
