In the sense of the so-called Chinese curse, 2006 was an "interesting time" at the journal. We completed conversion to an online manuscript processing system (ScholarOne's Manuscript Central), while attempting to manage the numerous submissions still active in the previous paper-based system. Electronic submission led to a sharp increase in new manuscripts and revisions, many more than we had received annually during my first five years
