Editors Note
This issue inaugurates AAPORs relationship with Oxford University Press as publisher of Public Opinion Quarterly. During 2003, the journals Advisory Committee, chaired by Vincent Price, reviewed proposals from a select group of journal publishers and recommended that AAPOR negotiate a contract with Oxford. That contract was signed by President Betsy Martin just as manuscripts were readied to send to Oxford for this issue.
We look forward to working with Oxford on a number of innovations, including an online manuscript submission and review system to be instituted this year. Information on this system is available on the journals Web site. Other developments will be announced in this space in subsequent issues.
We take the opportunity in the Spring issue to thank the many busy scholars, listed on pages near the back cover, who lent their expertise to the journals peer review process in the past year. Public Opinion Quarterly simply could not function without their careful evaluations of submitted papers. Particular thanks go to the members of the journals editorial board, who expertly field more than the usual number of requests for advice.
